Issue #94

Hello team! What a cracking start to the year. Grab a cuppa and catch up on everything happening across the RetailFlow family this month.

๐ŸŽ‰ New store opens in Geelong!

Our 51st store officially opens its doors on 14 March in the heart of Geelong, Victoria. The fit-out is looking gorgeous and we can't wait for the regional VIC crew to show the locals what RetailFlow is all about. A huge welcome to store manager Bianca Petrovski and her team of twelve. Pop in for the launch weekend: there'll be coffee, giveaways and a sausage sizzle for the local footy club.

๐Ÿง˜ Wellness Day: mark your calendars

Our autumn Wellness Day lands on Friday 27 March. Expect free chair massages at HQ, a lunchtime yoga session on the Perth rooftop, mental-health first-aid drop-ins, and smoothies on the house. Stores will run their own mini-versions; chat to your manager about local plans. Look after yourselves, legends.

๐ŸŒฑ Sustainability win

Proud moment! RetailFlow took home the WA Retail Sustainability Award 2026 for our in-store packaging take-back scheme, which diverted 18 tonnes of soft plastics from landfill last year. Managing Director Emma Rodriguez accepted the gong at the gala in Perth and gave a lovely shout-out to every store team who made it happen.

Did you know? Our recycled-fibre homewares range now makes up nearly a quarter of homewares sales. Small choices, big impact.

๐Ÿ‰ Footy tipping is back!

The 2026 RetailFlow footy tipping comp kicks off Round 1. Last year's champ, Dave from the Adelaide DC, has promised to defend his crown (and the golden whistle trophy). Sign up via the staff intranet before the first bounce. Bragging rights, a $200 voucher, and eternal glory await.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Staff profile: meet Aroha Williams

This month we sat down with Aroha Williams, visual merchandiser at our Brisbane Queen Street store. Aroha joined us three years ago after moving over from Auckland, loves a bold window display, and spends weekends bushwalking with her kelpie, Biscuit. Her tip for new starters: "Say yes to the secondments; that's how I found my calling in VM." Thanks Aroha!

๐Ÿ“… Coming up

That's a wrap for February. Got a story for The Buzz? Email the People & Culture team. Until next month, keep being brilliant!
